About
I’m a Staff Full-Stack Engineer based in Boston, building products and platform systems used by millions of people. Over 5+ years at Alignable, I’ve led work across product, growth, and web platform initiatives.
With more than ten years of software engineering experience, I bring technical depth across the stack and a strong product perspective. I’ve fixed Postgres deadlocks, optimized Node.js performance, and responded to DDoS attacks. I’ve also built a custom React metaframework, polished pixel-perfect CSS, owned GraphQL schemas, and led TypeScript adoption.
Beyond implementation, I’ve created ChatOps release pipelines, architected cloud development environments, improved observability with OpenTelemetry, and led cross-functional teams across product and growth initiatives. I’ve run user interviews, facilitated product brainstorms, and presented directly to executives. Understanding the full system, from infrastructure to user needs, helps me make better long-term decisions and move quickly under ambiguity.
Some highlights:
- Led the incremental migration of a 500K-line Rails stack to Elixir, React, and GraphQL.
- Shipped customer-facing AI agents that drove a significant increase in revenue.
- Built cloud development environments and expanded their use beyond engineering, enabling non-engineers to run A/B tests themselves.
I do my best work on consequential problems that require technical depth, product judgment, and clear communication. I enjoy turning ambiguous problems into systems people can rely on, and helping the people around me do their best work.
Values
Mission-Driven
I care about making a positive impact on people. As much as I enjoy a technical challenge, I have little interest in building products that no one uses or that manipulate people’s attention.
Learn
I love learning for its own sake. I started this blog to explore ideas more deliberately and seek out knowledge with greater intention.
Empower Others
There’s nothing more fulfilling than helping other people grow. I aim to teach generously, build trust proactively, and create access to opportunities.
